Creative Hue, "Attributes of Color" Exhibit, Arts Council of Wyoming County, Perry, NY

Elizabeth, Terry, Bruce, Valaria, Sherry, Omobowale & Paulette at reception, ACWC, Perry, NY

This was really my first exhibition with Creative Hue, it was a lot of fun and I was surprised because it was a lot of work also. I actually enjoyed seeing fellow artist pull together to get digital files of their images, some get digital portraits and bios. The idea of beginning to centralize this kind of data as we move towards the future is important.

This exhibit, entitled, "Attributes of Color" [a synonym for, "hue"] had many things worth noting including a kind of historical note, certainly for the Town of Perry, which could not have been more receptive nor a more perfect host. Located in a beautiful, "Norman Rockwell" like setting, with rolling hills and farms, with probably few persons of color as residents, yet the reception and exchange was genuine and friends were made.

The gallery was uniquely beautiful with two levels and an old built in elevator. The hanging of this truly eclectic show was a work in and of itself, a masterpiece of sort [a room installation] by Terry Chaka. The 3D sculptures were very commanding adding a signature as you pardoned yourself and walked around them. I found in particular the mixed media, the fabric art to be quite seductive both in a, "southern articulation of times past" and the postings and posings of newer forms based on victories of those same times that past. The painting ranged from "lyrical" to "quiet assertions" and some photographs trafficking modernity. A memorable show, to say the least.
