Paulette Davis is a time tested and proven fiber artist, much like the techniques and materials she uses such as cotton, plant leaves, wool and wood. She has sustained her art utilizing ancient techniques of natural dying, felting and basketry to create the inner play of form, color, patterns and textures observed. The accompanying pieces, entitled, “Mom,” “Pretty Girl” and “Paul,” are pieces that are working on their own, they posses a “possession,” not totally unlike a “juju,” a spirit force. The tactile surfaces allow light to seduce the perception and the characters are compelling. A weaver, a mix-media-er and a visual alchemist...."Creative Hue," for real.
